Maybo: Managing Conflict

Maybo Newsletter

Welcome to Maybo's twenty first e-newsletter. Since our last newsletter Maybo has changed the website www.maybo.com. We hope that you will find it easier to find the information about Maybo training and solutions that you are looking for.

The Maybo site will focus on Maybo resources and news. For general national and international news please check out ConflictPro at www.conflictprofessional.com

Violence at work has again been in the media following the Panorama programme looking at violence in hospitals. Sadly the programme did not quote the National Audit Office figure that violence costs the NHS £173million a year.

The programme highlighted the need for quality training and for approaches like our own that provide medical and nursing staff with skills to avoid and defuse conflict and where physical skills are needed simple, non-pain based strategies. We are delighted that our NHS and independent care clients are seeing less need to resort to physical skills as they have effective alternatives and have tackled root causes of conflict and violence.

New service
This month Maybo launches its specialist programmes for Children’s Services, and has made recommendations to government for improving its guidance to teachers on the use of force on pupils. Chartered psychologist Tim Cooke, who specialises in managing difficult and challenging behaviours with children and young people, leads our SaferChildren programme. The programme has BILD PI accreditation.

If you would like further information on the licensed programmes or conflict management with children please email tamara@maybo.com or telephone 01580 881386.
