Welcome to Maybo's eleventh e-newsletter. This month several organisations in Wales – the NHS, a nursing body and the Health and Safety Executive within Wales - published the All Wales Violence and Aggression Training Passport and Information Scheme. The hope is that it will lead to more effective use of resources, consistency in tackling violence and aggression and improvements in the health and wellbeing of staff. Importantly it also recognises the need for measuring training standards and sees the benefits of gaining recognised qualifications. Elsewhere in the news there have been a string of surveys reporting violence on the increase… although some good news for NHS staff on prosecutions. Attacks against Jobcentre staff have risen by 62%
BTP figures show rise in violence on transport system
Essex social workers attacked by a violent couple have situation worsened by Daily Mail report
Violent assaults on teachers rise by a third
Successful prosecutions up for assaulters in NHS
If you have any questions about any of these items or any other conflict management issue please phone Maybo on 0870 3661 220. Also we would appreciate feedback on our newsletters, email tamara
