    What is the process?

Awarding organisations will require evidence of relevant professional competence and experience before trainers are permitted to deliver Maybo physical intervention training in support of SIA endorsed qualifications.

There are two requirements that must be met to deliver training under Maybo Licensed Programme.

    1. Centre approval - Centres must provide Maybo with the information requested on the approval from and demonstrate they have current insurance at the specified levels.
    2. A qualified Maybo trained tutor - Tutors must have successfully complete the Maybo tutor training course.

On approval, centres are given access to Maybo's secure web based system to order delegate workbooks, manage courses and record delegates. Centres will also have to be registered with an awarding organisation (eg City & Guilds, NOCN, Highfield) to supply their delegates with certificates to meet SIA requirements.

Only Maybo certified tutors can deliver Maybo programmes for Maybo licensed centres.

    Insurance considerations

As part of the Approved Programme requirements participating organisations must demonstrate suitable insurance. Maybo subscribes to the Conflict Protect scheme, underwritten by Chubb and processed by specialist brokers Peter Hattersley and Partners (PHPL), which provides a specific tailored solution for PI and PI training organisations. For further information please refer to the web site: Conflict Protect.
Insurance requirements reflect commonly agreed industry standards, with cover as a minimum:

    • Public liability £5m
    • Employer’s liability, where applicable £10m

Where the organisation is to deliver the Programme to non-employees, the organisation shall also hold the following minimum additional insurance:

    • Professional Indemnity £250,000 (of note, Conflict Protect provides for a higher protection)

Policies should specify under the business activities that insurance cover is specific and commensurate to the training activities.

Please also refer to the scheme's information flyer.
