Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions from Maybo clients, trainers and course participants. Can't find what you need? Speak to your Client Success Partner or contact us.

For organisations

How do we find the right training for our staff?

Effective training starts with a clear picture of the risks your staff face. Your Client Success Partner will help you look at your incidents, data, roles and regulatory requirements, and our online training needs analysis tools let you set out your needs so we can design an evidence-based programme. Read more about our approach.

How can training be delivered?

There are four options, which can be combined into a blended programme:

  • Classroom: team training delivered by Maybo trainers, wherever you need it
  • Virtual classroom: live training over Zoom or Microsoft Teams
  • eLearning: self-study courses for induction, refresher training or blended learning
  • Train the trainer: your own experienced trainers are certified to deliver Maybo programmes within your organisation

Who do we contact about our training?

Your Client Success Partner is your main point of contact for training needs analysis, programme tailoring, compliance, measuring outcomes and roll-out. If you're not sure who that is, contact your regional office and we'll point you in the right direction.

How can our staff take Maybo eLearning?

You can enrol learners on Maybo's own learning platform, which includes reporting, certification management and learner support with no IT set-up, or host the courses on your own learning management system (SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 or xAPI). Individual enrolments can be bought in our eLearning store. Find out more about Maybo eLearning.

Can we run Maybo eLearning on our own LMS?

Yes. With a self-hosted licence you distribute Maybo eLearning through your own learning management system via SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 or Tin Can, with an annual licence sized by your workforce. You can test that your LMS works with our modules first by downloading our sample module. See self-hosted eLearning.

How does Maybo certification work?

Maybo certification is competency-based: participants are certified for the modules in which they meet the required standard. Certification is time-limited, so staff need refresher training to stay certified. Your Client Success Partner can confirm the certification period and refresher requirements for your programme.

What's changing in the physical intervention modules?

Maybo's adult physical intervention modules were refreshed from 1 August 2026, with a clearer structure, stronger safety briefings and a streamlined set of 64 core techniques (down from 129). Release notes for each module are on PI Module Updates 2026.

Can we use the Maybo name and logo?

Yes, as set out in our brand guidelines, which explain when and how you can use the Maybo name and logo and the names of Maybo's training approaches.

What terms apply to our training?

Your training is provided under Maybo's Terms and Conditions and the Sales Order for your programme.

How do we give feedback or make a complaint?

Use our confidential feedback form. It's anonymous and reviewed within 24 hours by a Maybo Director. For a formal complaint or appeal, see our Complaints, Appeals and Referral Policy.

For trainers

How do I access Trainer Resources?

Log in on the Trainer Resources page with your Maybo Trainer ID. It holds everything you need to deliver Maybo's modular curricula, including presentations, session plans, scenarios, sector guidance and interactive eBooks. If you can't log in, contact your regional office.

How do I register a course and get certificates for participants?

After the course, register it on the Certification page. This records delivery of your Maybo Certified Programme and requests certificates for your participants.

What paperwork do I need for a course?

Download the templates from Course documentation. The full trainer pack includes the course information sheet, attendance record, venue risk assessment, trainer report, partial completion record, evaluation form and physical skills declaration. Keep completed forms with your course records.

What do I need to do before a physical skills course?

  • Check the venue against the venue requirements, and complete the venue risk assessment before any physical skills training starts.
  • Send the joining instructions to every participant before the course day.
  • Have each participant sign the participant declaration at the start and end of the course. The Maybo Training Centre keeps the signed copies.

Technique risk assessments and safer use guidance are in Trainer Resources.

What if a participant doesn't complete every module?

Complete a partial completion record for each participant who isn't eligible for certification in every module covered. It's used to decide what they are certified for.

What should I do if someone is injured on a course?

Record every known or suspected injury on the injury report form, then report it to Maybo when you complete online certification after the course.

What has changed in the physical intervention modules?

The updated modules are in use from 1 August 2026, with enhanced trainer guidance and session planning resources. Please review the release notes for the modules in your organisation's programmes on PI Module Updates 2026.

How do I book a train-the-trainer or recertification course?

Contact your regional office or your Client Success Partner to book.

What support do I get as a Maybo trainer?

Certified trainers get remote and onsite support from Maybo's senior training team, and continuing professional development through refreshers, webinars and our annual conference.

I deliver courses for Maybo directly. How do I submit my delivery report?

Use the Trainer Delivery Report.

For course participants

Where can I find my course eBooks and resources?

Log in on the Learner Resources page to access the eBooks and resources that support your Maybo training.

How do I get my certificate?

Your trainer requests certificates when they register the course with Maybo. If you haven't received yours, ask your trainer or your organisation's training lead.

How do I prepare for a physical skills course?

Read the joining instructions you're sent before the course day. They explain how to prepare for the physical skills parts of the course. You'll also be asked to sign a participant declaration at the start and end of the course.
