Proven experience and expertise
Maybo training carers of people who have acquired brain injury with positive approaches to behaviours of concern based on understanding and meeting needs. This includes understanding how patients' ABI, personal circumstances, staff and environment influence their needs and behaviours.
We have developed safer working practices for common tasks in ABI services that reduce arousal, improve communications and keep staff safe. This can extend to clinical holding where necessary.
We provide staff with primary and secondary strategies to prevent and defuse behaviours that challenge, this helps staff them to:
- Better understand a person’s physiological and emotional needs
- Improve their environment
- Engage them in ways that reduce behaviours that challenge
- Reduce the need for restrictive practices
Our physical skills are gentle and low arousal, yet robust and safe for use with adults and children when required as a last resort.
Maybo was one of the first organisations to evidence compliance with the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards and we can offer training Certified by BILD ACT to Services that meet requirements. Our Trainer Training is also Accredited by City & Guilds.
We are the preferred training provider for some of the largest care providers across the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
