Training focused on meeting needs and reducing distress
Maybo training encourages learners to look behind a person's behaviour to understand what it may be communicating.
Our human rights-based approach to training aims to ensure people are treated with respect and dignity, ensuring their individual needs are understood and being met in helping to prevent distress and improve quality of life.
We cover positive communication skills and ways to manage behaviours of concern, plus safe and respectful approaches to close proximity tasks such as guiding and personal care.
In some more challenging contexts, we can provide a unique low arousal physical skill set that builds confidence and reduces risk for all involved. These may be subject to RRN requirements (see below).
Our focus is not simply on teaching safer methods, it is on reducing restrictive practices.
Maybo clients benefit from the best resources available and flexible ways of delivering training during these challenging times. Underpinning knowledge can be delivered through our interactive eLearning and then applied by staff to their own setting on a Virtual Classroom and/or conventional training course. The latter addresses workplace scenarios experienced and helps to build confidence and skills.
