Physical Intervention Module Updates in 2026

We are pleased to share some important updates to Maybo training programmes and supporting processes that will be introduced from 1 August 2026 onwards. These changes are designed to improve learning outcomes, enhance safety, streamline administration, and provide greater flexibility for services.

    Updated Physical Intervention Modules

Maybo has completed a comprehensive review and refresh of its Adult Physical Intervention training modules. The updated modules have been fully rebuilt to improve clarity, consistency, and usability.

    Physical Skills Review

As part of the review, the physical intervention toolbox has been streamlined to improve learning and application in practice:

    • Reduction from 129 techniques to 64 core techniques
    • Introduction of 9 new techniques
    • Removal of 3 techniques following risk review: Object Removal, Cross Body Escort and Seated Wraps (Wheelchair)

Please review the release notes for modules that are contained within your organisation's training programmes. These changes support a stronger focus on practical application, safer delivery and increased confidence in using interventions appropriately within local service environments.
